Removing Obstacles, Transforming Lives
Physical limitations can make simple tasks like navigating stairs at home or getting into a car to go somewhere an ordeal. You have to meticulously prepare and plan how to make each task a success. You may even need assistance being lifted in and out of a wheelchair, which can easily weigh 400-600 lbs., to reach your destination.
We provide financial assistance for uninsured accessibility solutions for people with neuromuscular disease. Accessibility solutions break barriers by giving you greater mobility and freedom. Recipients of a wheelchair-accessible vehicle can easily attend our events to meet others, socialize, and become an integral part of our community. The ability to venture out, spend time with friends, or travel is life-changing.
What You Need to Know
We strive to help people with neuromuscular diseases live safer and more independently. Through the generosity of our donors, we can help provide transformative solutions. While we would love to fund every specific need, our financial assistance is limited. Our board determines how to distribute funds based on the amount requested and the need you identify.
We request that you submit documentation for a denial of coverage by insurance or waiver for all equipment requests. The applicant must be diagnosed with one of the listed neuromuscular diseases. If you are awarded financial assistance for an accessibility solution, funding is paid directly to the vendor or partner from whom you will receive the item.
